Octopus Energy Group buys Upside Energy, a leading energy software company based in Manchester. The move lays the foundation for UK energy pioneer Tech unicorn Octopus Energy Group's new technology innovation hub, first announced during a visit by the Prime Minister and Chancellor to the company's London office earlier of month.
The new energy technology center (EnTech) will play a key role in achieving Octopus Energy's ambition to turn the UK into the 'Silicon Valley of Energy'.

The integration of Upside's AI and data science expertise will add further capabilities to Octopus' proprietary cloud-based technology platform 'Kraken'.
